Aaliyah Movies

Queen of the Damned (2002)
This adaptation of Anne Rice’s best-selling novel follows the legendary vampire Lestat (Stuart Townsend), who has reinvented himself as a rock star in the contemporary American music scene. His music wakes Akasha (Aaliyah), the queen of all vampires, and inspires her desire to make Lestat her king. Akasha’s malevolent power is so great that all the immortal vampires must stand against her if they want to survive. Meanwhile, a young London woman with a fascination for the dark side (Marguerite Moreau) falls in love with Lestat.

Romeo Must Die (2000)
American hip-hop culture collides with kung-fu action movies in this electric film from Andrzej Bartkowiak. When a Chinese businessman is recruited to establish a truce between two gangs (one Chinese, one American), he falls in love with the daughter of the American mob's leader (played by singing sensation Aaliyah). Hong Kong superstar Jet Li follows his supporting role in LETHAL WEAPON 4 with a starmaking turn as the revenge-seeking cop in this modern reworking of Shakespeare's ROMEO AND JULIET.

Quotation

It is dark in my favorite dream. Someone is following me. I don't know why. I'm scared. Then suddenly I lift off, far away. How do I feel? As if I am swimming in the air, free, weightless. Nobody can reach me. Nobody can touch me. It's a wonderful feeling." (in an interview in July 2001 with Germany's "Die Zeit" newspaper that eerily predicts Aaliyah's death

It's hard to say what I want my legacy to be when I'm long gone."

er advice for aspiring artists: "Keep working hard and you can get anything that you want. If God gave you the talent, you should go for it. But don't think it's going to be easy. It's hard!

Everything is worth it. The hard work, the times when you're tired, the times where you're a bit sad... In the end, it's all worth it because it really makes me happy. There's nothing better than loving what you do.

If you put your mind to it you can be anything.

The one I gave my heart to is my favorite song.

Always be true to yourself.
